Please don't ask me what DD was doing in this video because I have absolutely no idea. She has been "burrowing" her head into the ground quite a bit these days, especially at night when she's sleepy or trying to fall asleep. I don't remember DS doing that when he was a baby!

Grandpa Trying to Set Some Rules
With DD's increased mobility and our current apartment in Taiwan not being child-proofed at all, DD has been taking the opportunity to wander into her favorite room - the kitchen! Funny how most kids love kitchens. Thankfully, Grandpa has been here to help out. It is now hardly possible to cook AND prevent DD from strolling into the kitchen at all. Here's Grandpa trying to "instruct" DD to stay out of the kitchen. How successful do you think Grandpa was? :P

DS is Too "Concentrated"?!?
DS has been a constipated baby ever since he was born. He used to move his bowels every 3 days as an infant, but more recently, with increased fluids and fiber, it's now down to every other day.
This was a recent conversation between Grandpa and DS, when DS had to take a break from playing to drink up a cup of water given to him.
DS: Mummy says I need to drink more water.
Grandpa: Why?
DS: If I don't, I will get very concentrated.
Grandpa: Concentrated?!?
Haha. He probably meant "constipated" or "dehydrated", rather than "concentrated".

An Occupational Hazard
I recently discovered an occupational hazard for working in hospitals. DS knows that his Mummy and Papa work in a hospital, especially for Papa, who we used to drop off at work occasionally. DS has also accompanied DH on occasions when he had to drop by his workplace briefly. DS also knows that a hospital is for people who are ill.
DS recently enjoys playing "house", which he probably picked up from online kids' games, whereby one has to "build" a house and be responsible for picking out the floor boards, wallpaper and furniture to "decorate" the house.
Just the other day, DS and Grandpa were playing "house". DS started picking out toys (which he pretends to be pieces of decorative items) to "decorate" his "house" when Grandpa asked DS what kind of decoration he was using for his "house". DS promptly replied, "I'm decorating my house to look like a HOSPITAL!". Grandpa was amused!

DD - A Big Girl Now!
DD turned 13 months old recently and I must say that she is starting to look more "grown up" than before. No more the baby who was mostly pictured lying down, on her tummy, or standing while holding onto something. She's now able to walk a short distance by herself and spends most of her day improving that skill. :)

DS was so thrilled that he was allowed to have DD on his lap. :)

DS and his "Rifle"
When we visited the Dr Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall during the early days of our stay in Taiwan, DS was fascinated by the changing-of-guards performance displayed by the guards who watch over the huge statue of Dr Sun Yat-sen. In the first video below, you'll see DS practising with his "rifle". I must say that he's getting pretty good at it. And in the second video, that's the real thing!
Finally, 4 teeth!
About a week after DD turned 1 year old, she cut her 2 upper front teeth! We only found out when DD starting grinding her upper and lower teeth together. The unmistakable sound of grinding teeth could only mean the addition of new teeth!
