My Cats

Those of you who know that I have two cats may be wondering where they are while I'm away. The one on the left is Kitty and the pretty one on the right is Sasha. Well, my Aunty Clarice is kindly "babysitting" them in my absence. I heard that they are settling in well and not missing me too much. :P Aunty Clarice has a great way with animals. As DS always says, "Kitty and Sasha are having a party there!" (Aunt Clarice has other pets of her own too). Can't wait to see them again, maybe when we're back briefly in April!

DD Pictures (3 months old)

Time flies. DD is already 3 months old. 14 weeks to be precise. Where is my floppy newborn!?!

DD Found Her Thumb!

Since the start of this week, DD found her thumb and has been sucking it everyday, even through her mittens. :)

DS and Boxes

DS loves boxes. He can spend the entire day transfering his toys in piecemeal from one box to another. But just the other day, he found another way to entertain himself with a box.

Lack of Internet Time This Week!

Just a quick post to apologise for the infrequent postings this week. DD hasn't been sleeping as early as usual - her cluster feedings now extend to past 9pm. I think she might be having a growth spurt. As for DS, he's sleeping a little later too - past 10pm at the earliest. By the time both kids are safely tucked away in bed, it's usually past 11pm! Will write again when I can. Till then, Happy Thanksgiving! (Well, a little belated! It was Thanksgiving yesterday.) :P

16th Street Mall

We went to 16th Street Mall on Saturday intending to do some shopping. Denver's 16th Street Mall is supposed to be the shopping street of Denver, the equivalent of Orchard Road in Singapore or Pitt Street Mall in Sydney. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing shopping experience. We were there for about 2 hours - from 11am to about 1pm, and the street was very quiet. There were not many shoppers around. Not what you would expect of a shopping street, especially on a Saturday.

16th Street is quite a long street (there's a free bus that runs along it), but there's seriously a lack of good retail outlets there. We wanted to pick up some infant items for DD and my MAC lip conditioner, but there wasn't even a departmental store which sold these items! The closest to a decent departmental store was TJ Maxx (much like Robinsons in Singapore), but they were having some sort of sale. The store was tiny, cluttered with items, and just generally messy.

We walked up the entire length of 16th Street Mall, down again, stopped at MacDonald's for lunch, and decided to head off home.

So if anyone's coming to Denver, forget about 16th Street Mall. THE place to shop in Denver is at Cherry Creek Shopping Mall, an upmarket shopping centre just 5 minutes drive from our place. That's where we'll be this weekend!

Baby Product Alert: Thermos Straw Sippy

In the hunt for a non-plastic straw sippy water bottle for DS, I came across Thermos' range for children. They have sippy cups for infants, non-leak straw sippies for toddlers and even straw water bottles for older children.

See them all here: http://www.thermos.com/

I have always wondered what the differences were between the Foogo (range for toddlers, includes non-leak straw sippies) and the Funtainers (range for older children, includes non-leak straw water bottles, similar to the Foogo range). Well, here's a review if anyone's interested:

Klean Kanteen (high quality stainless steel bottles from the US) also has a sippy cup. Edited: Just wanted to make a correction - the Klean Kanteen sippies are also non-leak. They use the Avent sippy sprout.
